The much-anticipated Bollywood movie ‘Tiger 3’, featuring the star-studded duo of Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, is now available for streaming on Amazon Prime. Yash Raj Films (YRF), the production house behind the movie, announced this exciting news on their social media platform, X (previously known as Twitter), with a thrilling caption: “Action Mode: Activated.”
Interestingly, Amazon Prime had kept the release date of this 2023 blockbuster under wraps until recently. They teased the arrival of the movie on X with a cryptic message: “We heard the roars, Tiger is on his way, #Tiger3onPrime, coming soon." Along with this, they also shared the movie’s poster, which stirred up a wave of excitement among fans, albeit with a hint of disappointment due to the lack of a specific release date.
‘Tiger 3’, directed by Maneesh Sharma and produced by YRF, is the fifth installment in the production house’s popular spy universe. The franchise already includes hit movies like ‘Ek The Tiger’, ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, ‘War’, and ‘Pathaan’. As per the industry tracker Sacnilk, ‘Tiger 3’ was made on a budget of ₹300 crore and was released on 12 November 2023. The movie managed to rake in a whopping ₹464 crore worldwide, with ₹339.5 crore from India and ₹124.5 crore from overseas markets. In the movie, Salman Khan reprised his role as Tiger, while Katrina Kaif returned as Zoya, continuing their roles from the previous installments.
The movie received mixed reviews, with some lauding its high-octane action sequences, while others criticized its formulaic approach to political themes. However, with its release on OTT platforms, ‘Tiger 3’ is all set to roar again in the digital world, promising an action-packed experience for viewers.
In comparison, YRF’s other spy thriller ‘Pathaan’, featuring Shah Rukh Khan, grossed an impressive ₹1,055 crore, including ₹657.5 crore from India and ₹397.5 crore from overseas. It secured the second spot in the list of all-time blockbuster movies of Hindi cinema, following ‘Jawan’, another Shah Rukh Khan starrer.
